Facial Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is a medical term, which is given to the problem of excessive sweating. The sweating process is controlled by the sympathetic activity, which is a part of the nervous system. Excessive facial sweating is termed as facial hyperhidrosis.

Hyperhidrosis leads to bad odor and may affect the social life of a person. Facial hyperhidrosis may lead to excessive sweating in facial and scalp area even if the body is not too much exerted upon. This may lead to frustration and irritation and must be cured. Facial hyperhidrosis may occur in both men and women and is more often a genetic problem.

This disorder is recognized by disproportionate sweating in areas like palms, soles, under arms or face. The disorder is related to malfunctioning of the sympathetic nervous system. For most of the patients cured with ETS it has been a safe process but complication have occurred in extremely rare cases. The core target of this remedy is palm sweating but it has also cut down the facial sweating effectively.

The amount of sweat produced can be cut drastically by severing the nerves that lead to the sweat glands. By cutting them off from this stimulus, hyperhydrosis can often be cured, but this is more effective in places like the armpit. This may sound like a great option but it is a drastic one and should be your last resort.

Prescription drugs like Xanax, Propanolol SR and Probanthine are also medicated by some. But it is strictly advised to use these drugs only on prescription by a doctor.
Some dermatologists recommend use of Botox injections. This cure is temporary and lasts up to 8 months and is a costly treatment.
